Watch: Carlo Ancelotti produces sublime control on Madrid touchline

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti showed off incredible skills with an impeccable first touch during the club’s away La Liga victory over Sevilla.

Los Blancos recovered from a two-goal deficit to secure three points thanks to Karim Benzema’s dramatic stoppage-time winner.

Ivan Rakitic and Erik Lamela fired the hosts into an early lead, but a strong second-half display saw the France international grab the headlines after Rodrygo and Nacho helped restore parity.

Ancelotti has guided the Spanish giants to within touching distance of the league title in the 2021-22 season, but this exquisite control in his technical area was one of the finest acts the Italian has managed since his Bernabeu return last summer.

The former AC Milan midfielder rolled back the years in the first half at the Ramon Sanchez-Piziuan Stadium.

In the 28th minute, with his side already 2-0 behind, Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou’s miscued clearance was plucked out of the sky nonchalantly by the 62-year-old.

“It’s a very important win after a first half that wasn’t good,” Ancelotti said post-match.

“The second half was spectacular for us. We showed commitment, personality and courage from all the players.

“We’re getting used to this because this team is capable of special things.

“We haven’t lost confidence at 2-0 down and the games against PSG and Chelsea [in the Champions League] have helped us to believe we can come back.

“Everyone is waiting for Madrid to slip, but this team doesn’t do it, because they have heart, character and personality. We haven’t won the league yet, but we’ve given it a good push with this win.”

The legendary manager is pushing hard to lead his team to domestic and European glory this term, but it’s also great to see that he hasn’t lost the skills that saw him light up Serie A many moons ago.
