Watch: Gabriel Jesus gets goal and assist for Arsenal in pre-season win

Gabriel Jesus continued his impressive pre-season form by helping Arsenal record a 2-0 victory over Everton at the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.

Jesus, who spent the last five-and-a-half years at Manchester City, joined the Gunners in a £45million deal earlier this summer.

The Brazil international started on the bench for their first pre-season friendly against Nurnberg but came on at half-time and scored twice on his unofficial debut.

He was then named in Mikel Arteta’s starting XI and broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute. After Everton’s Jordon Pickford failed to collect the ball from an Arsenal corner, Jesus brought it under control and fired it into the back of the net.

The striker got an assist moments later when Bukayo Saka got on the end of his cross into the box and tapped the ball into the net.

Jesus is averaging a goal or assist every 22.5 minutes in pre-season but his work off the ball is also impressing Arteta.

“He creates chaos, he creates uncertainty and he’s always on your shoulder,” Arteta said after the game. “He’s always there to nick the ball off you, he’s always in front of the goal.

“He’s a real threat and this is what we need. And then he’s the one. The moment we give the ball away he is straight away active and putting pressure and getting his team behind him.

“He has a lot of leadership skills, I can see straight away what he’s doing with the boys and he’s the type of guy that we want.”

Arsenal face Orlando City, Chelsea and Sevilla in their next pre-season friendlies before kicking off the Premier League season with a trip to Crystal Palace.
