Watch: Gabriel Jesus scores after just 90 seconds on his Arsenal debut

Gabriel Jesus has hit the ground running at Arsenal, scoring just 90 seconds into his unofficial debut against German side Nurnberg.

Jesus has spent the last five-and-a-half years at Manchester City, scoring 95 goals in 236 appearances in all competitions.

But he struggled to establish himself as their first-choice striker and fell down the pecking order following Erling Haaland’s arrival.

The Brazil international decided to join Arsenal in a £45million deal and will now play under Mikel Arteta, who previously worked as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at City.

“I have already worked with Mikel, so I know his ideas a little bit,” Jesus recently said in an exclusive interview with GOAL.

“I know the way he wants to play. I think it is quite similar to Pep Guardiola and I think that fits well. I’ve come to try to help the guys and I’ll try to learn with them as well. As a family.

“I am so happy with the group. It was good to see everyone when I joined the club for the first day.

“It is a big family here. We are going to play well, train well and at the end of the season, I am pretty sure, we are going to win something.”

The 25-year-old has only had a couple of training sessions with his new team-mates and was named on the bench for their first pre-season friendly against Nurnberg.

After Arsenal found themselves 2-0 down at half-time, Jesus was brought on at the start of the second half and made an immediate impact.

He picked up a loose ball and drove towards the defence before playing a one-two with his team-mate and lashing the ball into the net.
