Man Utd loanee Dean Henderson at Nottingham Forest

Watch: Man Utd loanee Dean Henderson trolls Liverpool fans with middle finger

Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson appeared to aim his middle finger in the direction of Liverpool’s fans after starring in Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 victory.

Having played a vital role in Forest picking up an unlikely three points against Jurgen Klopp’s side – including making one particularly stunning stop to deny Virgil van Dijk in injury time – Henderson was in a buoyant mood after the final whistle at the City Ground.

The 25-year-old England international was a frustrated figure after playing a role on the periphery amid United’s struggles last season, and appears eager to show what he can do at newly-promoted Forest.

Steve Cooper praised Henderson for making a number of good saves in Forest’s midweek 0-0 draw with Brighton, and once again the goalkeeper put in a fine performance, keeping a second successive clean sheet in the win over Liverpool.

“It’s Premier League and they’re all good, all fight, but giving teams six clear chances, I’m not sure where I should put praise on,” Klopp told BT Sport.

“They’re a great team, Steve’s a fantastic manager, for us, we have to win here – done – but we didn’t. Credit to Nottingham, it was us against the goalkeeper, us against ourselves and not us against Nottingham Forest, nobody defended Bobby, Virg, we didn’t use it.”

Henderson is evidently something of a spiky, passionate character. He made headlines in the summer for an interview with talkSPORT in which he said he was “fuming” by the way he was treated by his parent club last season, with appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick few and far between.

That side of Henderson’s personality was there to be seen after the final whistle confirmed the win over United’s long-standing local rivals.

He went straight to celebrate with the Nottingham Forest fans before jubilantly giving some of the away fans stick – the footage certainly appears to show Henderson giving the middle finger to Liverpool supporters, which may land him in hot water.
