Watch: Fabrizio Romano on MASSIVE Mykhalyo Mudryk to Arsenal news

Arsenal are keen to tie up the signature of Mykhalyo Mudryk this month and Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Premier League leaders have made a second bid for the Shakhtar Donetsk and Ukraine forward.

The 21-year-old winger has caught the eye with some sensational performances for Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League this season. He notched three goals and two assists for Shakhtar in six group-stage appearances.

And the Ukraine international is commonly believed to be Arteta’s main January target as Arsenal look to consolidate their seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

The Gunners have already had a bid of €40million rejected by the Ukrainian club and it’s believed that Chelsea are also interested in signing the forward.

“Talks for Mudryk are on,” confirmed Shakhtar CEO last Thursday.

“We receive offers but not the ones we would like to see on our table. I’ll speak again to Arsenal so yes, we are open to discussing fees and ideas. If we will agree, then let it be so. If we will not, then let it be another time.

“Now, literally in five minutes, I will have a new phone call conversation with Arsenal for the Mykhaylo Mudryk deal.”

And Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, has confirmed that Arsenal have made another approach for the youngster.

“The two clubs, Shakhtar Donetsk and Arsenal, have remained in very good contact,” the Italian journalist said.

“Arsenal keep pushing because Shakhtar could be open to accepting something less than €100million. And, on Monday, Arsenal submitted a new official bid for Mykhalyo Mudryk.

“This new official bid is more than €50million guarenteed, so Arsenal have made this new proposal and are waiting for Shakhtar Donetsk to reply and to decide.

“Let me clarify one thing; on the player’s side, there are no problems with personal terms because Mudryk reached an agreement with Arsenal in around five minutes.

“He would love to join Arsenal and he dreams of the Premier League but the timing is important – it’s the January transfer window, not summer, and the clubs are very fast when they act.

“So Arsenal have to be fast with Mudryk because Chelsea are also interested. But the player prefers Arsenal.”
