Watch: Fabrizio Romano has CRUCIAL update on Mykhaylo Mudryk to Arsenal

Arsenal fans are currently beside themselves with excitement at their team’s form and this could reach a whole new level if they secure the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk and Ukraine forward Mykhaylo Mudryk this month. Luckily, Fabrizio Romano has provided a crucial update on the situation…

The 21-year-old has caught the eye with some sensational performances for Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League this season, despite the Ukrainian side’s elimination in the group stages.

He notched three goals and two assists for Shakhtar in six appearances to leave Europe’s richest clubs on high alert.

And the Ukraine international is commonly believed to be Arteta’s main January target as Arsenal look to consolidate their seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

The Gunners have already had a bid of €40million rejected but Romano bought news of a second offer yesterday.

“Arsenal keep pushing because Shakhtar could be open to accepting something less than €100million,” he said on his YouTube channel. “And, on Monday, Arsenal submitted a new official bid for Mykhalyo Mudryk.

“This new official bid is more than €50million guaranteed, so Arsenal have made this new proposal and are waiting for Shakhtar Donetsk to reply and to decide.”

Now the Italian journalist has provided a critical update as the Premier League leaders look to secure their man.

“Negotiations are ongoing,” Romano said. “Arsenal have made a bid of around €50million as a guaranteed fee, plus add-ons. So Arsenal have improved their proposal for Mudryk.

“But, now, it’s on Shakhtar. I’m told that the two clubs are still in direct conversation, there is direct exchange every day between Arsenal and Shakhtar.

“But, at the moment, the deal is not done yet. We have to wait for the two clubs to reach an agreement on the fee, and it’s on Shakhtar now as Arsenal are pushing.

“It’s on Shakhtar to decide on the future of Mudryk. Again, personal terms will never be a problem as Mudryk dreams of the Premier League and Arsenal especially.

“It’s on the clubs now and the conversations continue.”
