Watch: Neymar’s ridiculous dribble and absolutely filthy roulette pass

PSG’s front three of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe put on a show last night at the Parc des Princes in a seven-goal thriller against Troyes.

The Parisiens remain top of Ligue 1, beating Troyes 4-3 after coming twice from behind.

Neymar, Mbappe and Messi continued their incredible form as they each got on the scoresheet in the win.

Messi scored an absolutely cracking long-range strike and set up Neymar with a brilliant eye-of-the-needle through ball, but the most eye-catching moment of the match came with a goal that wasn’t scored.

In the 65th minute, Neymar received the ball deep in the opposition half and decided just to drive straight at them. He rode challenges and dribbled past three Troyes players before taking another two out with a truly outrageous backheeled roulette pass into the path of Mbappe.

Mbappe was put through, but he couldn’t find a way past the goalkeeper. It’s a shame that it didn’t go in, as we’d be talking about one of the all-time greatest assists if it did.

There’s recently been media reports of a rift between Mbappe and Neymar, but it didn’t look that way on this evidence, or when Neymar defended his team-mate after a heavy challenge against Maccabi Haifa in midweek.

“It’s very nice to train them, especially the front three,” PSG boss Christoph Galtier said in midweek in a post-match press conference following their 7-2 Champions League thrashing of Maccabi Haifa.

“To have them every day in training, with yesterday’s morning session, which was of an exceptional level, and on top of that to see them express themselves like that, for a coach, it’s the Holy Grail.”

When you see passages of play like this, it’s not difficult to see what he’s talking about.

PSG’s all-star front three already have 28 goals between them in Ligue 1 this season (11 for Mbappe, 10 for Neymar and seven for Messi), while Messi leads the assists chart in Europe’s top five leagues with 10 in Ligue 1.
