Watch: Man Utd? Barcelona? Fabrizio Romano has key Lewandowski info
Robert Lewandowski’s desire to leave Bayern Munich is well known – but his destination is yet to be decided. So where will he end up? At Barcelona, Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain or somewhere else? Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano has brought us the latest.
Lewandowski has spent eight seasons at Bayern, scoring a remarkable 344 goals in 375 games including 98 goals in 86 games since the start of the 2020-21 campaign. But the Poland international now wants to move on to a new challenge.
In June, he told Onet Sport: “The only thing I want is to leave Bayern. Loyalty and respect are more important than work. The best thing is to find a solution together. Something has died in me, I want to leave Bayern to find more excitement in my life.”
It had been reported that Lewandowski was nearing a move to Barcelona, but Bayern have seemingly blocked that transfer, demanding a fee of £52million despite the fact Lewandowski only has a year remaining on his contract.
Amid their financial difficulties, Barcelona are unable to pay such a high fee, so new suitors have emerged, among them United and PSG.
So is Lewandowski ready to abandon his Barca ambitions to join another club who do have the money that Bayern are demanding? Not according to Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano.

In a new video on his YouTube channel, Romano states: “Many of you are asking me: it’s true this story of Robert Lewandowski to replace Cristiano Ronaldo at Man United?
“Guys, I’m told the same thing on Lewandowski since March: for Lewandowski, it’s only Barcelona; he wants to join Barcelona, nothing else.
“Lewandowski only wants Barca and his message to Barca, to the agent, to Bayern is still the same. He has an agreement with Barcelona on a three-year contract and he’s waiting for Barcelona to find an agreement with Bayern after [previous] bids [were] rejected.
“He knows from Barca that they will be on it these days to find an agreement with Bayern. So, Lewandowski is only thinking of Barca, nothing with other clubs.
“It’s true that Man United, Chelsea, also Paris Saint-Germain asked about his situation, then it depends on the proposal. but as of today, Lewandowski is only focused on [a] Barcelona move.”
Romano also had another update that was of interest to Balugrana fans, mentioning the progress of negotiations for the Brazil international winger Raphinha.
Romano again confirmed Barca’s interest in the 25-year-old, saying that Barcelona have again been in contact with the player’s agent Deco and his father.
But the journalist said that only Chelsea have had an official bid accepted by Leeds.
“The feeling,” he concluded, “is that Barcelona will need to improve their proposal if they really want to sign Raphinha.
“We know that the player gives priority to [a] Barcelona move, he has an agreement on personal terms, and Barca told him to be ready.
“But also guys, it’s important to mention that Leeds have only accepted Chelsea[‘s] bid as of now.”
