‘Simple as f**k’: Berbatov’s sweary commentary on his goals is wonderful
Dimitar Berbatov stole the hearts of Tottenham and Manchester United supporters in the Premier League – and he’s still making us smile now.
During an eight-year spell in England, Berbatov shone as a languid artist amid the mayhem of the Premier League, and he quite clearly loved scoring a hat-full of goals.
Last week he captioned an Instagram video of some of his finest strikes by saying: “Football is about the team, the passion, tactics, tackles, team spirit, and so much more, but most important are the goals.
“Without them football is not complete! And if you manage to score beautiful goals, goals that kids want to imitate and people remember, then you are making football also about art! And not many players can do that!”
And then he followed that up with three posts in which he commentates on some of his goals for Monaco, Tottenham and Manchester United, often getting a bit carried away and swearing at his own genius.
Each Instagram video contains two or three goals, so make sure you watch them all. We love him.
