Watch: Stefan Bajcetic already sounds RIDICULOUSLY Scouse

Planet Football •

Stefan Bajcetic has enjoyed a breakout season at Liverpool and the 18-year-old Spaniard has unintentionally revealed his hilariously Scouse accent during his post-match interview after the victory over Everton on Monday.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher raved about Bajcetic’s performance during this week’s Merseyside derby, and named the midfielder as his Man of the Match while covering the game for Sky Sports.

“I’m going to give player of the match to Bajcetic,” Carragher said. “[Darwin] Nunez has been amazing. Salah has been [too].

“But for a young man of his age to play in a Merseyside derby and put in the performance he’s done… He’s kept players out who have won Champions Leagues in recent weeks.

“I wasn’t sure if this was the game for him tonight given the power and physicality of Everton’s midfield but he’s been outstanding. He’s dealt with the demands physically but also his quality on the ball.”

It came in just a fifth Premier League appearance for the Spain U18 international, as Bajcetic helped the Reds dominate the midfield in a fashion we’ve not seen much from them this season.

“I’m very impressed,” Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson added this week. “He has been outstanding since he has come into the team.

“Over the last few weeks, even though the performances haven’t been great, he has been the one that has probably stood out and performed to the levels he is capable of.”

And Bajcetic’s post-match interview revealed he’s already picked up something of a Scouse accent since joining the club from Celta Vigo in December 2020.

We’d like to see the reaction of his family back in Galicia when Bajcetic shows off the English he’s learnt on Merseyside…
