Watch: Aaron Ramsdale pulls off sublime double save for Arsenal
Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale added another two stunning saves to his collection this season with a breathtaking double stop during his side’s game against Leicester this Saturday.
Ramsdale, who joined the Gunners from Sheffield United last summer, pulled off the goal-denying efforts in the 42nd minute of the game at the King Power stadium, firstly stopping James Maddison’s 20-yard freekick which appeared destined to nestle in the top corner – touching the ball on the crossbar with his fingertips.
The Arsenal ‘keeper then reacted near-instantly to deny the follow-up effort from Jonny Evans, using his body to deflect the ball onto the post from point-blank range before the ball was eventually cleared away by Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey.
The sight of Ramsdale making a near unbelievable save has become somewhat of a common occurrence so far this season – with an equally crucial stop coming against Aston Villa just a week ago – as the 23-year-old continues his outstanding start to life at the Emirates.
Aaron Ramsdale that is insane! 😱
How he kept out this James Maddison free-kick, we will not know! 🧤⛔️
