Watch: Alessandro Del Piero explains the magic of Liverpool’s front three

It’s hard to pick out a weak point in Liverpool‘s dominant 2019-20 squad, but the Reds’ elite front three have been doing the business for more than just this year.

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have scored 44 goals between them this season already, to go along with the 69 they contributed last season and 91 the campaign before that.

If anyone knows what’s needed from a lethal attacking set-up, it’s former Juventus frontman Alessandro del Piero, so it will please Liverpool fans to hear what he had to say about the men firing Jurgen Klopp’s team to the title.

Del Piero, who scored more than 300 career goals and more than 200 in Serie A alone, was full of praise for the way Salah has upped his game since leaving Roma.

He also spoke fondly of Firmino’s quality when it comes to bringing team-mates into the game, and gave Mane credit for his physical and technical quality, but said “the mixture of the three is the real secret”.
