Watch: Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta shushes Hojberg after heated clash

While Arsenal‘s pre-season game against Tottenham was billed as a friendly, tensions nearly boiled over in the north London derby.

Both sides made a number of robust challenges and Dele Alli received a yellow card for a reckless foul on Nicolas Pepe in the 33rd minute.

During the second half, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg slid to attempt to keep the ball in play but almost caught Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

The Denmark international felt that Arteta was standing too close to the pitch and seemingly told him to get back into his technical area.

Arteta responded by putting his finger to his lips to tell him to be quiet before pointing at the midfielder’s chest. The pair exchanged words and Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka then came over to intervene.

But Hojberg had the last laugh as Spurs forward Son Heung-Min netted the winning goal 12 minutes from full-time.
