Watch: Arsenal keeper Aaron Ramsdale almost gives away howler

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale got away with what could have been an embarrassing mistake after allowing a cross to slip through his fingers during his sides game against Brighton on Saturday evening.

Ramsdale, who had impressed so far in his time at Arsenal after arriving from Sheffield United last summer, almost allowed the Seagulls to take the lead in the 20th minute of the match after failing to deal with a seemingly innocuous cross from Neal Maupay and dropping the ball directly at the feet of the hosts captain Ben Dunk.

Fortunately for the England international keeper’ however, Dunk wasn’t unable to convert the chance from close range and instead fired over the crossbar.

The moment was certainly out of character for Ramsdale who has been a bright spark for Arsenal during what has been an extremely mixed season thus far. One of his most notable moments of the season so far being a spectacular save to deny Tottenham’s Lucas Moura during last weeks North London derby.

The home team were left ruing the missed opportunity though, as it proved to be the most clear cut chance either side were presented during what was a very tight contest.

The match ended 0-0 – a result which saw Arsenal move into the top half of the Premier League table for the first time this season.
