Watch: Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale saves point with acrobatic late save

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale made a crucial late save to earn his side a point during their game against Brighton at the Amex this Saturday.

Ramsdale, who joined the Gunners from Sheffield United last summer, has undoubtedly been a bright spark for the North London side in what has already been a very mixed season so far.

The standout save from the England international during this weekend’s game came in the 86th minute with the contest locked at 0-0 when Seagulls forward Alexis Mac Allister skilfully chipped the ball towards the back post. Winger Solly March then played the ball back across the face of the goal in search of team-mate Neal Maupay.

Thankfully for the visiting fans the 23-year-old shot stopper was able to react quickly and acrobatically punch the ball away before it could find it’s way to the boot of Maupay who was lined up for a comfortable tap in.

The late heroics from Ramsdale secured Arsenal a hard earned point on the south coast as the game would go on to finish goalless – a result which sent the Gooners into the top half of the Premier League table for the first time this season.

This was not the first save of this calibre that the keeper has made for his team since making his move to the Emirates however, as he also made headlines with a stunning stop to deny Tottenham’s Lucas Moura during last week’s north London derby.
