Watch: Arsenal nearly score great goal after Pepe and Smith Rowe backheels

Arsenal rolled back the years and nearly scored a beautiful team goal during their 4-1 pre-season friendly win over Watford.

Eddie Nketiah opened the scoring for the Gunners before Norwich’s Philip Zinckernagel capitalised on a defensive error to equalise.

After Alexandre Lacazette restored Arsenal’s lead from the penalty spot, Kieran Tierney and Miguel Azeez got on the scoresheet to put them in complete control.

Despite winning 4-1, Mikel Arteta’s side refused to rest on their laurels and pressed high to win the ball back in the 86th minute.

After Nicolas Pepe produced a cheeky flick inside the penalty area, Emile Smith Rowe then backheeled the ball into the path of Thomas Partey.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, Partey was unable to finish off the move and instead fired his shot over the bar.
