Watch: Aubameyang copies Thierry Henry’s iconic goal celebration v Spurs

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang celebrates after scoring against Tottenham.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang did his best Thierry Henry impression during Arsenal‘s 3-0 win against Tottenham at the Emirates.

Henry enjoyed plenty of success against Spurs over the course of his playing career, scoring five goals in 11 appearances in all competitions.

But his most iconic goal against their north London rivals came in 2002 when he celebrated on his knees in front of the travelling away fans.

The Gunners struggled to replace Henry but Aubameyang has proved to be a suitable heir since signing from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018.

After Emile Smith Rowe gave Arsenal the lead on Sunday afternoon, Aubameyang finished off a stunning counter-attack in the 27th minute.

The Gabon international then celebrated by doing a knee slide on the Emirates turf while Henry watched on from the stands.

Bukayo Saka made it 3-0 in the 35th minute before Son Heung-Min netted a late consolation for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.
