Watch: Barcelona’s Pedri plays superb crossfield ball for first Spain assist

Barcelona starlet Pedri only made his international debut over this latest break, but he’s already looking indispensable for Spain.

Luis Enrique’s side have underwhelmed in their opening two qualifiers for Qatar 2022, only mustering a 1-1 draw at home to Greece before labouring to an unconvincing 2-1 victory over Georgia.

But while Spain looked collectively off-colour in the victory over Georgia, needing an injury-time winner from Dani Olmo to take all three points, Pedri stood out with a fine individual performance on his first senior international start – with one particularly sensational cross-field ball.

Man City’s Ferran Torres failed to convert on that occasion, but he made no mistake against Kosovo, with Pedri on it again with a superb ball to find him.

Spain’s second goal in the 36th minute, Torres had plenty to do, receiving Pedri’s ball well outside the box, before dribbling inside and finishing emphatically.
