Watch: Chorley coaching staff laugh in the face of Adama Traore

Chorley may have exited the FA Cup at the fourth round with a 1-0 defeat at home to Wolves, but they certainly seemed to enjoy the occasion. We’re not sure if Adama Traore did.

We haven’t seen scenes like this on a touchline since Sam Allardyce was left in stitches by a stony-faced Chico Flores, as the staff of the National League North outfit couldn’t help but crack up at the Traore’s tough-guy routine.

Given how the Spain international has terrorised defences at the very top level, you might have expected it to be a mismatch when he came up against sixth-tier Chorley when he was introduced off the bench in the 69th minute.

But they did well to keep him relatively quiet, having put in a more than respectable display to only lose narrowly, registering five shots on target to Wolves’ only one – Vitinha’s superb 30-yard match-winner early on.

Having given away a free-kick right next to the Chorley dugout after flattening Lewis Baines, the coaching staff – and manager Jamie Vermiglio in particular – couldn’t help but laugh.
