Watch: ‘Chris, I love you’ – Lukaku dedicates his Belgium goal to Eriksen

Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku dedicated his first goal of Euro 2020 to Inter Milan team-mate Christian Eriksen.

Eriksen collapsed on the pitch during Denmark’s game against Finland and was given CPR treatment before being rushed to hospital.

The midfielder is now confirmed to be in a stable condition and the two sides agreed to restart the game a couple of hours later, with Finland eventually winning 1-0.

Lukaku, who recently won the Serie A title with Inter alongside Eriksen, then started Belgium’s Euro 2020 opener against Russia.

The 28-year-old scored within the opening 10 minutes and then ran over to a camera and said: “Chris, Chris – I love you.”

Thomas Meunier doubled Belgium’s lead in the 34th minute before Lukaku sealed the win with his second goal of the game in the closing stages.

“I’m really happy with the win but for me, it was difficult to play because my mind was with Christian,” Lukaku told beIN Sports after the game. “I hope he is healthy and I dedicate this performance to him.”
