Watch: Christian Eriksen scores beautiful free-kick at Ajax training

Christian Eriksen is continuing to step-up his recovery by training with former club Ajax – and he’s already scoring incredible free-kicks in training.

Eriksen hasn’t played professional football since suffering a cardiac arrest playing for Denmark at Euro 2020.

The midfielder received life-saving treatment on the pitch in Copenhagen before being rushed to hospital. He’s now been fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) device.

The device means he can no longer play in Serie A, meaning his contract at Inter Milan was terminated by mutual consent.

Eriksen is now a free agent and has been attracting attention from Premier League side Brentford – as the 29-year-old is eyeing a return to the Denmark squad in time for the 2022 World Cup.

Some have questioned whether Eriksen should return to the game but, judging by some footage from his first training session back with Ajax, the former Spurs man has certainly not lost any of his quality.

A clip of Eriksen scoring an absolute barnstormer of a free-kick in slow-motion has emerged on Twitter and it’s hard not to feel warm at watching a supremely talented player doing what he does best.
