Watch: Cristiano Ronaldo expertly chips keeper to score 699th career goal

Cristiano Ronaldo is one goal away from reaching 700 career goals after he scored a ridiculously clean chip for Portugal as they beat Luxembourg 3-0.

There’s some dispute over how many goals the 34-year-old has scored, with Spanish publication Marca counting the chip itself as his 700th, but FIFA itself officially recognises that he’s on 699.

The Juventus forward could hit the milestone for his national team on Monday evening as they travel to Ukraine. Andriy Shevchenko’s side currently top Euro 2020 qualifying Group B after winning their last five games, so it should be a challenge.
