Watch: Ronaldo scores his 100th goal for Juventus and keeps CL hopes alive
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 100th Juventus goal in their 3-1 away win against Sassuolo to keep alive his side’s hopes of a top-four finish.
After Gianluigi Buffon rolled back the years and saved Domenico Berardi’s penalty, Adrien Rabiot then put Juventus ahead in the 28h minute.
Ronaldo bounced back from his disappointing performance against AC Milan and doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time, firing a left-footed shot into the bottom corner.
The Portugal international has now netted 100 goals in 131 games for the Bianconeri, becoming the first player to hit that milestone in less than three seasons.
He is also the first player in history to record 100 goals with three different clubs and his national team, having done so with Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Portugal.
Giacomo Raspadori pulled one back for the hosts before Paulo Dybala also got his 100th Juventus goal to secure the three points.
Andrea Pirlo’s side are now one point behind fourth-placed Napoli with two Serie A games remaining in 2020-21.
