Watch: Fernandes’ funny reaction to finding out he will captain Man Utd

Bruno Fernandes’s rapid establishment into one of Manchester United‘s leading figures was underlined this week when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed the midfielder will captain the side against PSG in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Despite only joining United in January, a stunning run of form over the second half of 2019-20 saw Fernandes named the club’s Player of the Year.
While the Red Devils have endured a difficult start to 2020-21, Fernandes has still remained incredibly productive, scoring three times and providing two assists in four Premier League outings.
And with Harry Maguire not travelling to France for United’s Champions League group stage clash with PSG, Solskjaer confirmed Fernandes will captain the side, surprising the Portugal international, who was sat alongside him in the press conference.
“The captain sits next to me,” Solskjaer said. “Bruno will captain the team tomorrow.”
That prompted the following brilliant reaction from Fernandes.

“I was not expecting this,’ Fernandes said. “I found out this the same time as you! It is an honour and an important achievement for me.
“But the captain is everyone — everyone needs to help and be a leader in their way.”
