Watch: Folarin Balogun scores for Arsenal U21s after brilliant dribble

Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun has been outstanding for the club’s Under-23 side this season and carried that form into the Arsenal Under-21’s Papa John’s Trophy game against Ipswich at Portman Road on Wednesday night, scoring a brilliant goal.

Balogun is one of the most promising players in the Arsenal youth set-up and has been dominant for the Under-23s this term, scoring goal after goal and pulling off some magical bits of skill along the way.

Before the Gunners’ Under-21 side played Ipswich on Wednesday night, it emerged that Balogun wants to leave the club on loan in January.

According to Football.London, the New York-born forward still sees his long-term future at the Emirates but would like to experience senior football in the second half of this season.

With the evidence he provided on Wednesday night against the League One Tractor Boys, he could more than hold his own among men.

With 20 minutes to go and the score at 2-1 to the hosts, Balogun picked up the ball on the left, skinned his man, played a terrific one-two with Omari Giraud-Hutchinson and proceeded to tuck the ball in from the tightest of angles.

It was a terrific bit of football from the jet-heeled England youth international and Mikel Arteta and the Arsenal staff will be thinking very carefully about the best next step for his development.
