Watch: Former Chelsea prospect speaks of separate loan group at training

Former Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran has spoken out about the club’s infamous loan policy, saying the players set for loan deals even trained separately from the first team.

Much is said about the Stamford Bridge club’s policy which regularly sees a large group of players sent out on loan.

They currently have 33 players out on loan, ranging young prospects to World Cup winners.

McEachran was at Chelsea from the age of eight, but made just 11 Premier League appearances for the club, spending time on loan at Swansea, Middlesbrough, Watford, Wigan and Vitesse, before leaving and establishing himself as a first team regular at Championship side Brentford.

And he has opened up about the bleak prospect of being a loaned player at Chelsea, saying he arrived at pre-season training one year only to be told he was part of the “loan group”.
