Romelu Lukaku capped his Internazionale debut with a goal as his new club defeated Leece 4-0 to go top of the Serie A on Monday night.
The Belgian international, who moved to the Italian top flight from Manchester United earlier this summer in a deal worth £74million, played the full 90 minutes of Inter’s opening league game and scored the third of his side’s goals.
Marcelo Brozovic and Stefano Sensi made it 2-0 inside 25 minutes before Antonio Candreva added a fourth six minutes from time, following Diego Farias’ red card for Leece.
All in all, it was a thoroughly convincing win for Antonio Conte’s new look Inter side and Lukaku, whose United career ended in disappointment, will be delighted after making the perfect start to life in Italy.
