Ben HD got his first chance to watch the brilliant Marco van Basten in the latest episode of our football legend reaction series on YouTube – and Van Basten didn’t disappoint.

Having only started watching football in 2007, Ben was too young to witness the greatness of Marco van Basten and so we had to catch him up on the iconic striker.

The Dutch forward is one of the most clinical players of all time, having scored 282 goals in just 379 appearances for Ajax and AC Milan during his career.

Van Basten is also one of only five players to have won three Ballon d’Or awards, which is even more impressive when you consider that he retired at 30.

He won three league titles with Ajax, four Serie A trophies with AC Milan, three European Cups, several league cups and the 1998 European Championship with the Netherlands.
