Ben HD got his first chance to watch the brilliant Robbie Fowler in the eighth episode of our football legend reaction series on YouTube – and Fowler didn’t disappoint.

At 21, Ben only started to watch football around 2007 so never got the chance to watch Fowler in his prime, explaining, “By the time I was getting into football I think Fowler was playing in Australia”.

Fowler made 369 appearances for Liverpool during his two spells at the club and scored a pretty damn impressive 183 goals in the process.

The striker burst onto the scene as a youngster and quickly made a name for himself, as he scored 18 goals in his debut season and was named the PFA Young Player of the Year in 1995 and 1996.

Despite his flawless record in front of goal, injuries certainly hampered Fowler throughout his career and the forward retired in 2011 having scored 261 goals throughout his career.

Ben might have been too young to witness Fowler’s greatness back in the day, but here’s the next best thing…
