Watch: Helder Costa scores brilliant solo goal for Leeds United U23s

Helder Costa responded to being dropped by Marcelo Bielsa with a superb solo goal for Leeds United‘s Under-23s against West Brom’s Under-23s on Monday afternoon.

We must admit that we got a little carried away by Costa’s start to the season, going as far as dubbing him Helder Costa 2.0 as he appeared to be slowly remembering just how good he can be.

But after a couple of below-par displays in back-to-back 4-1 defeats to Leicester City and Crystal Palace, Costa* was dropped to the bench to make way for summer signing Raphinha – AKA: £17million of sauce – as Leeds produced a much better performance in their 0-0 draw with Arsenal at Elland Road on Sunday.

Costa was given a chance to impress and stay match-fit with an appearance for the Under-23s and showed his class with a brilliant slaloming run and finish to give Leeds a 2-1 victory.

More of this please, Helder. It’s fun.
