Watch: Ian Wright celebrates England goals wildly during semi-final win
England reached the final of a major tournament for the first time since 1966 on Wednesday night, beating Denmark 2-1 in their Euro 2020 semi-final, and it is safe to say Arsenal legend Ian Wright enjoyed himself.
During his playing career, Wright made 33 appearances for the Three Lions, scoring nine goals, but it is unlikely he celebrated any of them as much as these.
He was filmed celebrating joyously alongside his fellow pundit, and Chelsea Women’s manager, Emma Hayes after a Simon Kjaer own goal cancelled out Mikkel Damsgaard’s stunning opener before half-time.
After Raheem Sterling was controversially adjudged to have been fouled by Mathias Jensen in the box during the first half of extra-time, Harry Kane had the chance to send Wright wild again.
And he did. Eventually. The Tottenham marksman’s initial spot-kick was saved by Kasper Schmeichel but the rebound fell perfectly for Kane to slot home.
Cue more jubilant scenes from the ITV studio inside Wembley between Wright and Hayes. Strangely, Roy Keane’s reactions were never shown, but you can watch the duo going wild below.
