Watch: Incredible passage of play from Chelsea almost leads to brilliant goal

Chelsea recorded a narrow win over Arsenal in a five-goal thriller on Saturday – but it could have been slightly more comfortable had Eden Hazard finished off a sensational move for what would have been a Goal of the Season contender.

The Blues beat Arsenal 3-2 at Stamford Bridge, clinching victory thanks to Marcos Alonso’s late winner.

Maurizio Sarri’s men made a flying start and led 2-0 thanks to early goals from Pedro and Alvaro Morata.

But Arsenal hit back with goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi – with Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also missing two glorious chances.

The introduction of Eden Hazard from the bench proved crucial as he provided the assist for Alonso’s winner, while he also inspired the stunning move which almost led to an early Goal of the Season contender – sadly, he couldn’t finish past Petr Cech.

If this is the type of football Chelsea are going to play under former Napoli Sarri, we’re very excited.
