Watch: James Garner bags second goal of Nottingham Forest loan spell

Manchester United are extremely proud of their youth academy and it is easy to see why when you look at the talent they have produced.

The Class of ’92 famously carried the club to the treble in 1999 and today, the likes of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Scott McTominay are all permanent fixtures in the first-team squad.

James Garner is another one that the club have high hopes for. The midfielder was sent out on loan to Nottingham Forest in the Championship during the summer transfer window and has impressed under Chris Hughton.

On Friday afternoon, he scored his second goal for the club, hovering on the edge of the penalty area and pouncing on Cyrus Christie’s cross when it came.

The 20-year-old’s first-time shot never offered Dillon Phillips a chance in the Cardiff goal, with Garner wheeling away in celebration as soon as it left his boot.

Could he part of the Red Devils first-team next season?
