James Milner was more than happy to live up to his Boring James Milner stereotype after helping Liverpool win the Champions League with a 2-0 victory over Tottenham in Madrid on Saturday night.
After being named on the substitutes’ bench, Milner appeared in the second half to help Liverpool secure victory as goals from Mo Salah and Divock Origi saw the Reds lift the European Cup for a sixth time.
Milner, teetotal throughout his career, has often played up to the Boring James Milner parody which started on Twitter, notably saying he would celebrate Liverpool’s semi-final victory over Roma last season with a drink of Ribena.
And when it was put to him how he’d celebrate victory in the Wanda Metropolitano, he decided he might push the boat out.
"I might go a bit exotic!"
2018 semi-final win: Ribena
2019 final win: Lime and lemonade
Never change, @JamesMilner 🤣🤣👏
