Watch: Jamie Carragher calls Liverpool ‘mentality midgets’ after latest loss

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher called his old team ‘mentality midgets’ on Sky Sports as they lost their sixth consecutive home league game.

The Premier League champions led the table on Christmas Day but have collapsed since the turn of the year with injuries taking their toll.

Following their 1-0 home defeat against Fulham, Jurgen Klopp’s team find themselves 22 points behind league leaders Manchester City.

And club legend Jamie Carragher didn’t hold back in his opinion of Liverpool’s decline.

Speaking as co-commentator on Sky Sports, the former centre-back said: “Last year, that man there [Klopp] rightfully called his team mentality monsters and rightly so. They deserved that title. But right now they are more like mentality midgets.”

With time running out, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool can salvage anything from a disastrous campaign.
