Watch: Jurgen Klopp passionately fist pumps with Liverpool fans
Jurgen Klopp celebrated Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park by fist-pumping in front of the travelling away fans.
Klopp came over to the away section and celebrated in his customary passionate manner, spinning his hand around before fist-pumping in front of the supporters who copied his celebration.
The German then hit his chest and the Liverpool badge in a final show of emotion.
Liverpool went in front early thanks to a powerful Virgil van Dijk header from a corner in the eighth minute.
There was no reprieve for Palace, who were on the back foot for the majority of the first half, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fired in Liverpool’s second in the 32nd minute.
Odsonne Edouard pulled one back for Patrick Vieria’s Palace side and the home side performed well throughout the second haf.
But Fabinho ensured that all three points would be heading back to Merseyside when he converted a late penalty to make it 3-1.
They were aided by a wonderful goalkeeping performance from Alisson, who made several key saves when the game was on a knife-edge at 2-1.
“A big three points for us today,” Klopp said after the game. “The boys really put a proper shift in and I’m more than pleased about that.
“We did it the hard way but we did it.”
Liverpool have now cut the gap on leaders Manchester City to nine points and they still have a game in hand over their rivals who won the 2020-21 title.
