Watch: Leeds fans taunt Man Utd youth player with hilarious chant
Hannibal Mejbri is one of Manchester United‘s hottest prospects, but Leeds United‘s supporters had no interest in the 17-year-old’s reputation during the two clubs’ clash in the FA Youth Cup at Old Trafford.
Leeds renewed their rivalry with the Red Devils with a healthy backing of 1,400 fans at Old Trafford, although the hosts ran out 1-0 victors.
Mejbri was one of the most high-profile players on show, having joined Manchester United in a £9.1million deal from Monaco.
But when the midfielder shanked a pass into touch, he was greeted with a chorus of “Sideshow Bob is f*cking sh*t” from the away end.
After appearing less than impressed with the song, Leeds fans responded with a chant of “you’re going to cry in a minute”, although the player responded in good spirit after the match, writing on Instagram alongside a picture of The Simpsons character: “I admit there is a small resemblance”
