Watch: Man City’s Phil Foden skips over challenge and goes on great solo run

Phil Foden got a brilliant assist during Manchester City‘s Champions League semi-final win over PSG – but the real moment of the game came when he went on a brilliant solo run.

Having beat PSG 2-1 at the Parc des Princes in the first leg, City were full of confidence and Riyad Mahrez extended the advantage in the 11th minute.

Foden, who is still just 20, caused PSG all sorts of problems and produced a brilliant piece of skill to evade Leandro Paredes’s tackle before carrying the ball forward.

During the second half, Foden teed up Mahrez for his second with a sublime delivery and came very close to scoring himself, hitting the post with a thunderous effort.

“He showed tonight that he can produce at this level and be consistent in terms of his end product,” Rio Ferdinand told BT Sport after the game. “That’s why he is playing in this team.

“At the moment I would say Phil Foden is the best young player on form in the world right now.”
