Watch: Man Utd youngster Kobbie Mainoo produces stunning nutmeg

While Manchester United aren’t having a great season, they do have some really exciting young talents on their books.

Anthony Elanga has enjoyed a promising breakthrough season under Ralf Rangnick and Hannibal Mejbri has recently been promoted to the first-team squad.

The likes of Ethan Laird, Teden Mengi, Di’Shon Bernard, Dylan Levitt and James Garner have all been impressing out on loan in 2021-22.

United also have some talented players at the Under-18 level and they recently reached the sixth round of the FA Youth Cup after beating Everton 4-1.

Alejandro Garnacho stole the headlines in that win over Everton after scoring a Gareth Bale-esque solo goal before doing Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic celebration.

Kobbie Mainoo, who has been compared to Paul Pogba, also scored against Everton and is regarded as one of the most talented players in United’s academy

Mainoo made his Under-18s debut at the age of 15 in October 2020 and then played his first game for United’s Under-23s in November 2021.

The 16-year-old registered a brilliant assist against Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League Cup earlier this season and started the quarter-final against Chelsea.

With United leading 1-0 in the 29th minute following an early goal from Garnacho, Mainoo found himself up against Chelsea defender Derrick Abu near the touchline.

Despite being shoved by his opponent, the midfielder was able to produce an outrageous nutmeg on Abu before winning a free-kick.

Manni Norkett doubled United’s lead from the penalty spot at the start of the second half but Chelsea produced a brilliant comeback to win 3-2.
