Watch: Man Utd’s Ethan Laird produces brilliant solo run on MK Dons debut

Manchester United loanee Ethan Laird showed why he is so highly rated with a brilliant solo run on his MK Dons debut.

Laird made two senior appearances for United in 2019-20 and has now become the latest player to leave Old Trafford on a temporary deal.

“I need to work my way into the team and get to know the lads, but I want to make as much of an impact as I can while I’m here,” Laird told MK Dons’ official website. “That’s something I’ll always hold myself too – how can I affect my team-mates and the club in a positive way.

“This is the perfect place for me to continue developing, with the way the team play. They are aggressive, they like to get in behind and they leave it all out on the pitch and that’s my idea of football.”

The right-back started on the bench for their FA Cup third-round tie at Burnley and was brought on for his debut in the 62nd minute.

He then made a brilliant first impression, receiving the ball near his own penalty area before driving past three Burnley players and winning a free-kick.

The League One side were leading 1-0 but conceded an injury-time equaliser and lost on penalties.
