Manchester United youngster Scott McTominay played 90 minutes in their Premier League victory over Huddersfield, but it didn’t pass without incident.
United won the game 2-0, but should have been awarded a penalty when the 21-year-old was clattered by an awful challenge from Huddersfield loanee Terence Kongolo.
The home side were particularly aggrieved as the score was goalless at the time, though it proved not to affect the scoreline as Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring in the second half before Alexis Sanchez netted his first goal for the club to seal the victory.
But the game was less than 20 minutes old when McTominay could have been forced out of the action thanks to a reckless and dangerous piece of play from Kongolo.
The midfielder went up for and won a seemingly unchallenged header before the Monaco loanee came storming in with a shocking challenge.
The Swiss, making just his third appearance for Huddersfield, came in high and clattered McTominay right in front of the referee, but nothing was given despite the protests.
Not exactly pretty reading for England fans.
As Spain will tell you, it can be tough.
Brutally honest from the England players.
An outrageous effort.
15/23 is the score to beat from the office.
