Watch: Mo Salah sees outrageous goal ruled out by VAR for offside

Like tax returns, VAR only seems to exist to make our lives worse.
The next piece of evidence to support our uncontroversial opinion arrived with Mo Salah’s disallowed goal against Sheffield United.
Just look at it. The Liverpool forward controlled a long pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold with one touch and dismissively spanked the ball past Aaron Ramsdale straight after.
Of course, VAR had to ruin our fun by ruling the strike for offside. We think the only reason the goal was disallowed was that it was just too good.
Liverpool went on to win the game 2-1 thanks to goals from Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota, but the main memory was Salah’s brilliant improvised effort.
