Watch: ‘Frightened to death’: Neville lambasts Man Utd after derby loss
Gary Neville has blasted his former club as Manchester United lost 2-0 at home to Manchester City with another questionable performance.
Neville did not hold back in his criticism of the United team that played in the derby.
“There was this feeling that United needed to sit deep,” He said to Sky Sports, “and that they would forget they needed to have guts in possession and some guts out of possession.”
“They looked frightened to death almost as if they were crumpled up in a little ball in the corner waiting to be beat.”
“That’s not good enough.”
The former Manchester United right-back went on to criticise the way in which United approached the game.
“You can get into your shape, but then you can be aggressive from your shape.
“They weren’t aggressive, they were passive.
“A Manchester United player has to show guts and courage on the pitch… they are flaky when it comes to these big games.”
