Neymar is probably used to getting kicked from pillar to post by opposition players by now – but he came up with the perfect response in PSG’s 2-0 win over Strasbourg in the French Cup.
Strasbourg publicly taunted Neymar after the game, in which the Brazil forward had to leave the field injured after being kicked three times in quick succession by Moataz Zemzemi.
“It’s Neymar’s style, but don’t come and complain when you get kicked,” Strasbourg’s Anthony Goncalves said afterwards.
“He is a great player, I respect him,” midfielder Goncalves said. “He can enjoy himself but don’t come blubbering afterwards.”
PSG boss Thomas Tuchel defender his player, however, saying: “It was a situation where he was fouled three times, one after the other. The referee didn’t give anything. He twisted his foot.”
But while Neymar had to cut short his night’s work, he still found time to perfectly humiliate Zemzemi in retaliation with a rainbow flick over the head of the midfielder, who was left in a heap on the floor.
