Watch: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scores filthy backheel goal in training

Despite struggling for form this season, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looked full of confidence during a recent Arsenal training session.

Aubameyang has failed to live up to his own high standards this term, scoring nine goals in 24 Premier League appearances.

He was also dropped to the bench for their north London derby win against Tottenham after reporting late to the Emirates Stadium.

Aubameyng then joined up with the Gabon squad and registered a goal and assist during their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against DR Congo.

The striker was forced to miss his country’s away fixture against Angola due to Covid travel restrictions and returned to north London.

He participated in a shooting drill at their training ground and delivered a timely reminder of his abilities, rifling a shot into the top corner.

The 31-year-old then tried to round Mat Ryan before showing his initiative, beating the goalkeeper with a unique backheel flick.
