Watch: Pitch invader pours beer over own face as Newcastle draw at Palace

We’ve all had a few too many at the football, but one pitch invader possibly took it too far during Crystal Palace’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle United.

In a crucial game at Selhurst Park, both sides were aiming to increase the distance between themselves and the relegation zone.

Newcastle took the lead halfway through the first half after Mo Diame scored at the back post from Kenedy’s corner.

But Palace equalised 10 minutes after half-time thanks to Luka Milivojevic’s penalty.

The midfielder converted after Ciaran Clark had been adjudged to have pulled Christian Benteke’s shirt in the area.

With the draw Palace moved three points clear of the bottom three, while Newcastle are a point above Stoke City and Huddersfield Town.

But the match was clearly not entertaining enough for one supporter, who decided to make his way onto the pitch and proceed to pour lager down his face.

We’re not really sure why, but that doesn’t make it any less beautiful.

Thankfully, one gif has done the rounds on social media depicting the incident in all its glory.
