Watch: Man Utd’s Paul Pogba tees up Lingard goal with deft spinning pass
Paul Pogba capped off a superb Manchester United display against Newcastle this afternoon by producing a dazzling spinning pass to set up Jesse Lingard for the team’s fourth goal of the match.
The slick move was just one of many throughout the game which Pogba was involved in as the Frenchman continued his stellar start to the new Premier League season.
After being played the ball by Donny Van de Beek on the edge of the box, the the World Cup winner showed his sensational quick-thinking abilities to sharply turn and thread the ball between two Newcastle defenders mid-spin.
Pogba’s pass was not the only notable piece of skill in the move however, as Anthony Martial also has the foresight to allow the ball to pass through his legs before it eventually found it’s way to Lingard who finished off the manoeuvre with an assured finish into the far post.
The assist, Pogba’s seventh of the season already, came in the 92nd minute and put the result of the game beyond any doubt as United cruised to a 4-1 win helped by two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo.
