Watch: Steven Gerrard celebrates with fans as Rangers close in on league title

Rangers fans gave Steven Gerrard a day to remember as he arrived at Ibrox for their clash with St. Mirren on Saturday afternoon.

The club are closing in on their first title in 10 years and could be confirmed as soon as Sunday, with Celtic needing to beat Dundee United tomorrow afternoon to keep the race alive.

If they don’t, Gerrard will walk out at next weekend’s Old Firm with a first title to his name as a manager.

Two quickfire goals from Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos put them in control of proceedings on Saturday and an Ianis Hagi strike early in the second half put the game to bed.

It leaves Rangers 21 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premier League and that title has looked an inevitability for months now.

Gerrard was given a lively welcome before kick-off, with Gers fans lining the roads leading to Ibrox in premature title celebrations.

After the game, the Liverpool legend was seen cheering and chanting with the fans from the windows of the stadium.
