Watch: Raphael Varane trains with Man Utd team-mates for the first time

After completing his big-money move from Real Madrid, Raphael Varane has now taken part in his first Manchester United training session.

Varane spent 10 years at Madrid, making over 300 appearances and winning three La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues and a Copa del Rey

The France international decided to join United earlier this summer and was presented to the fans at Old Trafford ahead of their 5-1 win over Leeds on Saturday.

He then attended his first training session with his new side on Monday morning, linking up with compatriots Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba.

“Paul motivates players with his energy,” Varane told United’s official website. “We are different, but very complimentary and it’s important to have different types of leaders and characters.

“He’s ambitious and me too, so we are ready to work hard and do all we can to win trophies.”
