Watch: Real Madrid’s Vini Jr scores again with incredible dinked finish

Vinicius Jr may have been left out of the latest Brazil squad – but he won’t let that omission affect his form, as he showed with two more fine goals on Saturday as Real Madrid played Elche.

Vinicius has been in fine fettle this term, these being just his latest efforts after a goal in El Clasico in last weekend’s round of La Liga fixtures.

He now has nine goals and three assists in just 1093 minutes for his club in 2021-22.

Despite that incredible improvement on last year, Vinicius was not on the list when Brazil boss Tite announced his squad for November’s World Cup qualifiers.

The fact that he missed out and Barcelona outcast Philippe Coutinho made the cut could well have left Vinicius in a foul mood before the game aginst Elche, but even if that was the case, it didn’t show on the pitch.

He opened the scoring with a nice backheel assist from Mariano Diaz in the first half before sealing the points in the second period.

Toni Kroos found Luka Modric with a great pass, and Modric played it on to Vinicius Jr as he burst into the box.

The Brazilian then showed the new-found deftness in his finishing, lifting a subtle, intelligent shot over the onrushing goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
